Product Specialist, Chromatography – APAC

About the job

The Product Specialist is responsible, as SME, for using technical knowledge of products within their responsibility to drive and optimize commercial activities and sales results with our customers. This will be achieved through in-depth technical consultancy, design and project management of field initiatives as well as ensuring efficient knowledge transfer to customers and internal colleagues.

Main Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Act as the technical escalation pathway for products in their area of responsibility (SME)
  • Define the technical execution framework for technology implementations
  • Act as the higher level resource for conducting complex trials at customer site
  • Personal management of complex and strategic projects
  • Track and analyze the sales performance of the products within their responsibility and define targeted action plans together with the Sales and Marketing organizations to increase penetration into customer processes
  • Execution of advanced level post-sales training for customers
  • Ensure competency levels of Field Application specialists and the sales organization in line with the strategy of the Manager of Business Area
  • Consolidate Market feedback and transfer to product management to ensure customers’ needs are considered for new products or evolutions with the product life cycle
  • Support strategy Development
  • Technical support for quality escalation at customer site
  • Act as a technical sales coach for our sales organization for products within area of responsibility
  • Act as a subject matter expert for critical presentations or local sales activities
  • Technical liaison for important customer collaborations
  • Generate data for Application Notes

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduate in life sciences or bio/chemical engineering discipline
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the Biopharmaceutical industry or supplier
  • Product and application expertise particularly in chromatography
  • Ability to effectively interface with product/project/division management
  • Ability to interact at various levels (sales, technical, users)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent in English plus other local languages
  • Computer proficient in Windows-based software package including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and outlook
