The ViroiDoc Doctoral Network under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) is currently recruiting 10 PhD candidates across Europe, offering a unique opportunity to explore the fascinating world of viroids and viroid-like agents — the smallest known infectious pathogens.

As part of this international initiative, one PhD position is open at IBMP in the team of Dr. Manfred Heinlein, renowned for his expertise in plant-virus interactions and cell-to-cell communication. The selected candidate will be based at IBMP in Strasbourg, France, and will work on unraveling the molecular mechanisms involved in viroid replication and movement in plants. This research aims to enhance our understanding of plant-pathogen interactionsand could pave the way for innovative plant protection strategies.

VIROIDOC offers a multidisciplinary and collaborative research environment, with training in molecular biology, bioinformatics, plant pathology, and structural biology. Candidates will benefit from international mobility and take part in joint training activities with partner institutions across Europe.
