Shilpa Hebbar

Biopatrika Fellow

Shilpa is a PhD candidate in the Zinovyeva lab at Kansas State University, where she is working on understanding miRNA mediated gene regulation in C. elegans. Shilpa is also a Science communication fellow who uses various media to engage with the public in conversations about the importance of science and science education.

Lydia Mathew

Biopatrika Fellow

Lydia Mathew, is an enthusiastic student pursuing her Masters in Biotechnology from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. She has worked on fruit flies for about 3 years in CUBE, HBCSE, TIFR alongside collaborators working on other science model organisms. Her interest is to explore and work on exciting opportunities from different areas of science which can help her reach the unreached levels to create an impact. She loves to succinctly communicate science as it helps her contribute to scientific knowledge, community, and society by being creative, modest, and simple.

Atchuta Srinivas Duddu

Biopatrika Fellow

Mr. Atchuta Srinivas Duddu is currently a Ph.D. student in the Cancer Systems Biology Laboratory of Dr. Mohit Kumar Jolly at the Centre for BioSystems Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. Mr. Duddu completed his M. S. (ECE) from the University of California, San Diego and B. Tech. (Instrumentation) from IIT Kharagpur. Atchuta is an incredible artist who likes to explore the symbiotic relationship between art and science.

Maria Antony P

Biopatrika Fellow

Maria Antony P earned his masters in Wildlife Biology studying the urban ecology of Black Kites and has connected students with nature through education over 15 years, cultivated creativity, values & environmental responsibility in students. Interests in illustration, experience in education & wildlife helped him design & implement innovative conservation education programs successfully as ATREE’s Nature Educator in Tirunelveli landscape, Tamil Nadu. He is the co-author and designer of ‘Trails of Tamiraparani’, a coffee table book published by ATREE, Bengaluru.

Sofia Polcowñuk

Biopatrika Fellow

Sofia Polcowñuk has a PhD in Biology from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina and is currently a research associate at University of Glasgow, UK, focused on understanding the gut-brain axis and behaviour. She has been working with Drosophila for more than 6 years and is passionate about science communication and illustration.

Sindhuri Upadrasta

Biopatrika Fellow

Sindhuri , a 5th year PhD student at the CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, India. She finds her interests in studying parasites that cause severe diseases to humans and animals. In her spare time she tries engaging in scientific communication and outreach activities. Determined to learn digital illustrations and use them for communicating science to the general audience.

Sama Zaidi

Sama Zaidi , A postgraduate student, finds herself to be a Biotechnology enthusiast. She takes interest in working on medical conditions and her work, till now, relates with cardiovascular diseases and gut inhabitants. Her hobbies include reading novels and playing with her pets.

Ritika Sharma

Ritika Sharma, a postgraduate student of Biochemistry from, University of Delhi,India possess an interest in exploring creative and inclusive tools to enable public engagement with science. Her passion for art has led her to engage in science communication and scientific illustrations.

Akhil Ajin, a second year integrated BSc MSc Biotechnology student of VIT Vellore finds keen interest in biology and related sciences.

Andrea Vendlene Pereira,completed her bachelors in Science in Zoology from Scottish Church College, Calcutta University, Kolkata. Just this year, she finished her post graduation in Zoology from Serampore College, Calcutta University. She is currently looking out for exciting opportunities and internships to kick-start her career in Sciences.

Swanti Gupta

Swanti Gupta is currently pursuing PhD in Bioinformatics at Dayalbagh Educational Institute and International Centre of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology. Being a neurobiology enthusiast, everything about the brain from research stories to discoveries has always been her research interest. She found an amalgamation of her research interests and hobbies of art and writing in the field of science communication and sci-art. She likes creating easy to understand educational scientific research content and infographics to raise awareness among the general audience.
