What was their expectation from the program and whether they could achieve it?
Hi I am Deepshikha. I got to know about IEFR from a LinkedIn post. I thought if I get this internship, I’ll get some experience and I can go for a job. But after I landed here, not only the hands-on experience, but also I got to know about lab activities and experiments starting from planning the procedure, ordering chemicals and optimization of protocols. Now I feel I’m capable of handling a project on my own. When compared to what I expected, I gained a lot of knowledge. I get to know things, which I didn’t know before. I achieved more than I expected.
How do they plan to use this internship?
I have a plan to do a PhD in the future. After finishing my graduation, I wanted to take a break. I used this opportunity to get real time experience on projects and how to approach a guide for guidance. This opportunity also paved the way for entering into industry, which is difficult for a fresher. I’m very much thankful to Dr. Uday Saxena and the IEFR team.
What they will say to future applicants.
Hello my dear future applicants, If you want to Kickstart your career in the life sciences domain you landed in a good place. Here, not only you gain knowledge about experiments, you also get real time meetings with successful personalities mainly women through ‘Her story’ chat series interaction session. Wherever you go, they ask for experience even though they know you’re a fresher. But here they are expecting enthusiastic freshers . They believe in women empowerment. If you are cooperative, you’ll be in a good position in the future. Hard work always pays.
