My name is Drosophila melanogaster,
And I am very sought after,
Potentially exploited by Morgan,
Originally from Oregon.
I may be tiny,
But my uses are mighty.
Be it to cure diseases,
Or to study hematopoiesis.
My life spans through four cycles,
In a compact little vial.
Today I'm having fun flying,
Not worried about dying.
Dissecting me gives them information,
About my means of communication.
Taking away my life...
To save other lives.
