Call for Research Proposals – Fellowships under HRD Scheme (2025–26)
Exclusive for North Eastern Region
The Department of Health Research (DHR), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India, has announced the Call for Research Proposals under the Human Resource Development (HRD) Scheme for Health Research (2025–26).
This initiative aims to build advanced human resource capacity in the emerging fields of medical, clinical, and health sciences by supporting cutting-edge research training within India. The call is open only to applicants from North Eastern states — Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura.
Fellowship Categories
Eligible applicants can apply under the following components of the HRD Scheme:
- Women Scientist Fellowship
- Support to Institutions and Scientific Professionals/Bodies/Associations
- NRI/PIO/OCI Research Support Programme
- Start-up Grant for Induction into Biomedical and Health Research
- Short-Term Fellowship at Indian Institutes
- Long-Term Fellowship at Indian Institutes

Applicants from the North Eastern region are also encouraged to apply for:
- Workshop Funding Grants in Biomedical Research

Key Notes
- Proposals involving research on humans or animals must have clearance from the respective Institutional Human/Animal Ethics Committee.
- All fellowships are subject to the approval of the Technical Evaluation Committee / Project Approval Committee and availability of funds.
