🧬 What is DUPRF?
The Deakin University Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, formerly known as the Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, is a prestigious program designed to support and develop emerging research leaders. The fellowship aims to build capacity in key research areas and nurture the next generation of internationally competitive researchers.
🗓️ Key Dates
- Applications Open: Tuesday, 1 July 2025
- Applications Close: 11:55 PM AEST, Sunday, 10 August 2025
- Results Announced: From November 2025
✅ Who is Eligible?
- Must have been awarded a PhD on or after 1 January 2022
- Career interruptions are considered — use the Career Interruption Calculator to determine eligibility
💰 Fellowship Benefits
- Salary Support: Up to 3 years (Level A, Step 6 to Level B depending on experience)
- Research Grant: One-time grant of $15,000 AUD for research-related expenses, including travel, consumables, equipment, etc.
Note: Third year funding for international fellows is subject to visa approval.

- Find a supervisor aligned with your research interests
- Prepare and upload required documents, including:
- Top 5 publications
- Full Research Proposal (5 pages)
- Supervisor Support Statement
- Summary of experience and contributions
- CV (max 8 pages) and publication list
- PhD conferral evidence
- Career interruption evidence (if applicable)
- Submit online before the deadline via Deakin’s application portal
