Applications are open for the EMBL Sabbatical Visitor fellowships!
The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) invites applications for the prestigious Sabbatical Visitor Fellowships, offered under its Scientific Visitor Programme (SVP). These fellowships provide independent scientists worldwide with the opportunity to spend 3–6 months at one of EMBL’s six research sites, working in close collaboration with EMBL group leaders.
With up to €15,000 in support, these competitive fellowships are designed to foster exchange of knowledge, skills, and scientific ideas between visitors and the EMBL community — driving innovation across molecular and ecosystem-level biology.

- Open to independent scientists, PIs, and technical experts worldwide.
- Hosted at one of EMBL’s six sites: Heidelberg, Barcelona, Grenoble, Hamburg, Hinxton (Cambridge), or Rome.
