International Travel Support (ITS) Scheme – ANRF (formerly SERB)
The International Travel Support (ITS) scheme provides financial assistance to Indian researchers to present their research abroad at international scientific events like conferences, seminars, and workshops. Additionally, young scientists (under 35 years) are eligible for support to attend training programs, short-term schools, and workshops (up to 21 days).
✅ Scope
- Presenting a research paper, chairing a session, or delivering a keynote at an international event.
- Young researchers can attend training programs/workshops/schools outside India.
👩🔬 Eligibility
- Active Indian researchers in recognized academic/research institutions.
- Must have an invitation to present research or attend training.
- Should not have availed this scheme in the last 3 years.
- The event must be international in nature (postdoc, internships, observer-ships not eligible).
- Must hold at least a Master’s degree in Science or Bachelor’s in professional courses.
💸 Nature of Support
- Economy class airfare (shortest route), airport tax, and visa fees.
- Young scientists (age < 35) also get registration fee reimbursement up to ₹50,000 or actual, whichever is lower.
- Reimbursement is based on actual expenses—taxi fare not included.

- Acceptance letter for paper/poster
- Abstract with full author details
- Applicant bio-data with publications/patents
- Certificate of DOB
- Event details and benefits
- Declaration on other funding support

🧾 Documents Required (Reimbursement Stage)
- Claim form (generated online)
- Bank details (RTGS form)
- Air tickets, original boarding passes
- Receipts for air tickets, visa, registration
- Participation certificate
- Certificate on funding from other sources
- Best fare certificate from authorized agent
- Any other supporting documents
📅 Important Notes
- Apply 60–90 days before event start date (no early/late submission allowed).
- Cannot reapply within 90 days of previous application.
- Claims must be submitted within 90 days of the event’s end date.

- Register on the ANRF portal: Register here
- Go to Menu → Proposal Submission → Form Submission.
- Choose the ITS scheme and submit your application online only.
