- PhD in Life Sciences (postdoctoral training optional).
- Assistant Professor or equivalent with ≤6 years post-PhD experience (as of Sept 2026).
- Permanent appointment in an Indian university or research institute.
- Not open to postdoctoral fellows.
💰 Funding & Flexibility
Each award provides ₹50 lakh for up to 4 researchers. Funds are routed through the host institute without deductions or overheads, ensuring the award benefits the individual scientist directly. Should the awardee transfer institutions within India, the remaining funds can move with them.
