TNQ Inspiring Science Awards 2026: Celebrating Young Life Scientists of India
Registrations Open: September 15 – October 15, 2025
The TNQ Inspiring Science Awards (TNQ ISA) return for 2026, once again honouring the best research paper in the life sciences published by a student from India. These awards aim to recognise and reward quality science, inspire scholarship, and encourage young researchers to pursue meaningful careers in basic life science research.
Every year, the TNQ ISA celebrates creative, rigorous, and impactful discoveries from India’s next generation of scientists.
What’s at Stake? 🏆
- Eight Finalists: Each receives an Apple laptop, medal, and citation.
- One Winner: Receives the TNQ Inspiring Science Award medal, citation, and a fully funded travel fellowship to attend a scientific conference of their choice anywhere in the world.
This recognition not only celebrates scientific excellence but also provides young researchers with a global platform to share their work.
Eligibility ✍️
- Open to PhD scholars, recent PhD graduates, or postdocs (within 4 years) from Indian research institutions/universities.
- Research must be in the life sciences (e.g., biology, medicine, microbiology, biotechnology, ecology, etc.).
- Papers must have been first published between Oct 1, 2024 and Sept 30, 2025 in a peer-reviewed journal.
- Only full-length, peer-reviewed research articles are eligible (no reviews, editorials, perspectives, or preprints).
- The work must have been conducted in India.
- Papers with co-authors are allowed, but the award is given only to the submitting author.

Last year’s winner was Shirsha Saha (Prof. Arun Shukla lab, IIT Kanpur), whose work exemplified the spirit of impactful science from India.
