🚀 Calling all AI, biotech, and antibody engineering innovators!
The Antibody Developability Prediction (AbDev) Competition is now open for registration. This first-of-its-kind open benchmark challenge invites participants to test and refine predictive models for key antibody developability traits—fueling the future of AI-driven biologics.
Hosted by Ginkgo Bioworks’ Datapoints in collaboration with Hugging Face, the competition offers up to $60,000 in prizes and the chance to shape standards in therapeutic design.
Why It Matters
Antibody developability is central to transforming proteins into medicines. By building predictive models for critical biophysical properties, participants will help accelerate drug discovery, biologics engineering, and therapeutic innovation.
The challenge focuses on predicting experimentally-validated traits, including:
- 💧 Hydrophobicity (HIC)
- 🎯 Polyreactivity (CHO)
- 🧲 Self-association (AC-SINS at pH 7.4)
- 🔥 Thermostability (Tm2)
- 🧪 Titer
Each property has its own leaderboard and prize pool.
Competition Details
- Objective: Submit models that predict one or more antibody developability traits for a private test set of 80 antibodies.
- Prizes: Awards for top predictors in each category + an open-source prize for the best reproducible code trained only on the public dataset.
- Timeline: Winners announced November 2025.
Submissions can be anonymous, but prize eligibility requires team identification.
How to Join
1️⃣ Create a Hugging Face account.
2️⃣ Register your team using the form here.
3️⃣ Build and validate your model using the GDPa1 dataset.
4️⃣ Choose your track:
- Track 1: Submit predictions from an existing developability model.
- Track 2: Train on the GDPa1 dataset via cross-validation and submit predictions.
5️⃣ Upload predictions to the Hugging Face competition page with your registration code.
👉 You don’t need to predict all five properties—submit for as many as you like.
