IEC 60601-1 norms (Safety and Performance of Medical Equipment): This certification deals
with the basic safety and essential performance requirements of medical electrical equipment and serves to ensure that no single electrical, mechanical, thermal, or functional failure shall pose an unacceptable risk to patients and/or operators.
Why It Matters:
It will provide ayurvedic treatment a new direction and signal the start of the process of
standardizing ayurvedic traditions with technology that can be used globally for the good of
humanity. More than 5 lakh people have been tested with Nadi Tarangini, which is currently being used in more than 1250 Ayurvedic clinics nationwide.
Next Steps:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had mentioned this device in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program and
praised this device. Also, talks are underway to take these device further to large scale.
