ICT Mumbai’s Dr Ratnesh Jain receives Sarabhai Arogya Drishti Gaurav for promoting scientific ecosystems in India
New Delhi, 01/10/2026 : Dr Ratnesh Jain, Associate Professor at the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai, and Founder and Director of Mumbai Biocluster, has been conferred the Sarabhai Arogya Drishti Gaurav (Promoting Scientific Ecosystems in India) at the Bharat Life Sciences Award, organised by FICCI and powered by Lilly. The award was presented at a ceremony in Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi on 01/10/2026.
The citation recognises Dr Jain’s leadership in building a collaborative biopharma ecosystem that brings together translational research, scientific talent, shared platforms and strategic partnerships. Through Mumbai Biocluster, he has advanced an integrated model connecting research, people and platforms, supporting training, entrepreneurship, infrastructure and industry engagement.
The award, named after Dr Vikram Sarabhai, honours institution-building and collaboration in advancing India’s scientific capabilities.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jain said, “This recognition belongs to everyone who has built Mumbai Biocluster with us: our students, colleagues, industry partners and funders. An ecosystem grows when research, people and platforms keep feeding each other. Dr Sarabhai showed that institutions carry a nation’s scientific ambition forward, and we hope to contribute to that for Indian biopharma.”
