WEnyan Scholarship & Mentorship Program 2025–2026

The WEnyan Program is a prestigious scholarship and mentorship initiative exclusively for women in chemistry and allied areas. This program is sponsored by BASF Chemicals India Pvt. Ltd., supported by the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (GoI), and implemented by the Pune Knowledge Cluster.

🌱 About the Program

WEnyan is designed to provide funding support, mentorship, and entrepreneurial skill development for deserving women from low-income groups in Maharashtra. The program supports:

• 🔬 Academic research projects
• 💡 Prototyping and early-stage entrepreneurial ventures
• 🧪 Fields including Chemistry, Sustainability, New Materials, Agro-Chemicals, and more

🎓 Scholarship Benefits

• UG Students: ₹10,000/month for 3 months
• PG Students: ₹15,000/month for 6 months
• Entrepreneurs: ₹15,000/month for 6 months + ₹2 Lakhs for prototype development

📝 Eligibility Criteria

• Only for women from marginalized or low-income groups in Maharashtra
• Final-year UG/PG students in 2026 (B.Sc./B.Pharm./B.Tech./M.Sc./M.Tech. etc.)
• Early-stage entrepreneurs or Ph.D. students in prototype/product-based research (first 3 years)
• Projects must be FINAL YEAR projects, preferably in the applicant’s current institute

📂 Application Process

1. Student applies with a PI/Research Mentor and project
2. Entrepreneur applies with a PoC or product idea

🧾 Documents Required

• Research or Entrepreneurship Project Proposal (template below)
• 12th Grade Marksheet
• Marksheet of Last Exam
• Income Proof (for low-income candidates): Non-Creamy Layer or Income Certificate

🎯 Selection Process

Selection will be based on recommendations from a committee of academic and industry experts. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an online interaction before final selection.
