Peptides & Complex Generics Symposium 2026 Returns to Mumbai, Expanding Its Scientific Agenda and Launching the Billion Dose Challenge

PCG 2026: India’s Billion Dose Challenge for Peptides and Complex Generics

MUMBAI, INDIA — Following the success of its inaugural edition, Mumbai Biocluster, a Section-8 not-for-profit institution under the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai, has announced the second edition of the Peptides & Complex Generics Symposium (PCG 2026). The symposium will take place on 28–29 September 2026 at Aurika by Lemon Tree Hotels, Mumbai.

As the pharmaceutical industry rapidly expands beyond traditional generics into complex therapeutics such as peptides, oligonucleotides, and long-acting injectables, there is an increasing need for expertise across manufacturing, analytical characterization, regulatory science, and commercialization. PCG 2026 will bring together global experts, industry leaders, regulators, policy makers and researchers to address these challenges and accelerate innovation in complex therapeutics.

A signature addition to this year’s programme is the Billion Dose Challenge—an industry-led initiative exploring how India can manufacture and deliver complex therapeutics at population-scale while maintaining quality, affordability, and regulatory excellence. By placing this challenge at the centre of PCG 2026, Mumbai Biocluster aims to foster actionable strategies that strengthen India’s position as both an innovation hub and a global supplier of advanced medicines.

“India has already proven, it can make medicines affordable — the real test now is whether we can make complex therapeutics like peptides available at population scale, without compromising on quality or speed. The Billion Dose Challenge is our way of putting that question at the centre of the conversation, not at the margins. Through PCG 2026, we want to bring together the people who build, regulate, and finance these medicines, so that India moves from being a fast follower to a genuine architect of how the world manufactures complex therapeutics.”

— Dr. Ratnesh Jain, Founder & Director, Mumbai Biocluster
