The DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH RESEARCH (DHR) M/O Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, has launched an inspiring initiative — the NRI/PIO/OCI Research Support Programme — to support brilliant Indian-origin researchers from across the globe to contribute to India’s health research ecosystem.
🔬 What’s the Opportunity?
This program offers contractual research positions for Indian scientists abroad (NRI/PIO/OCI) to:
Full-time or for short durations
Collaborate with Indian researchers on high-impact health/biomedical projects
Work in premier institutions like ICMR or medical colleges of their choice

Scheme Highlights:
👉For persons of Indian origin – NRI, PIO, OCI
👉Having (a) M.D./ M.S./ M.D.S. or (b) M.Tech/ M.VSc./ M.Sc./ M. Pharma/ equivalent with Ph.D.
👉Min. 3 years of research experience
👉Age below 45 years (relaxation as per Govt. norms)
👉Research grant up to Rs. 20 lakhs per year
👉Stipend of Rs. 1.2 lakhs per month for 3 years
