The STFC Ernest Rutherford Fellowship (ERF) is now accepting applications for 2025! This prestigious 5-year fellowship supports outstanding researchers in STFC’s core science areas—from particle physics to astronomy, cosmology, and beyond.
🧪 Key Highlights:
- ⏳ Duration: Up to 5 years
- 💸 Funding: 80% of full economic cost covered by STFC
- 🏫 Host: Must be a UK research organisation with a departmental ERF quota
- 🌍 Open to all nationalities
- 💼 Must not hold a tenured or lecturer-level position

- PhD holder or equivalent experience
- Strong track record & leadership potential
- Cannot already hold a comparable independent research fellowship
