Indian Academy of Sciences, Bengaluru, a prestigious scientific institution, was established in 1934 by the renowned physicist Sir C.V. Raman. With a founding mission to advance and champion scientific progress, the Academy commenced its journey with 65 esteemed Fellows. Its inaugural meeting, held at the Indian Institute of Science, saw Sir C.V. Raman elected as its first President and the official adoption of the Academy’s foundational principles.
The Academy has announced a total of 40 fellows have been newly elected as Fellows in 2024 from across the country. The affiliation will be effective from 2025 onwards.
